James E Landry Jr.
James Edward “Milkman” Landry Jr. was born in Lake Charles LA on May 21, 1960 to the union of James Edward “Tip” Landry Sr. and Bobbie Jean Goodwill Landry.
He attended Immaculate Heart of Mary, Ray D. Molo Middle, and Marion High School. He married Catherine Ward, his first true love. Children born to them are Catherine Jean Landry and Marcus Landry. He was also stepfather to Sidney Ward and Ronald Pete Jr.
James was a very independent and hardworking man. He owned Goodwill Shoe Shining which operated in various locations in Louisiana and Texas. His hobbies consisted of dancing, singing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
James gave his life to the Lord upon returning from Austin TX. He exited this life at 6:22a.m. on February 17, 2016 at the Lake Charles Care Center.
James is survived by his children: Catherine Jean Landry of Lake Charles LA, Marcus Landry (Shelly) of Hayes Center NE, Sidney Ward (Claudette) of Sulphur LA, Rodney Pete Jr. (Kristie) of Lake Charles LA; seven grandchildren: Amya, Aireonna, Averiyan, Harlem, JaColby, KaiKayle, and LeiBrady; nine siblings: Theophlis (Brenda) Batiste of McDonough GA, Charley (Larry) Martin of Killeen TX, Lynnette Braxton of New York NY, Edwardine Landry of Lake Charles LA, Bernadette Landry of Austin TX, Natalie Landry of Houston TX, Anntoinette Himes of Ozark MO, David (Valerie) Landry of Houston TX, and Winifred “Ray-Ray” (John) Carrier of Loganville GA; two aunts: Catherine Chadwick of San Francisco CA, and Edith Simon of Lake Charles LA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents James Landry and Bobbie Jean Goodwill-Landry.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 9:00 AM until time of services in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Combre Memorial Park.
