Ira H. Fisher, 68, a resident of Cameron, LA passed peacefully from this life on August 24, 2015 with his family at his side.

Ira fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. Always with a smile and kind word, Ira''s determination and love of life will be his legacy. He was a commercial fisherman after spending the majority of his life as a machinist. Ira was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his shrimp boat and alligators.


Mr. Fisher is predeceased by his parents Thomas J. Fisher and Norma James Fisher, son, Alan Weber, grandson Michael Weber, brothers, David, Anard, and Leo Fisher, and sister Evelyn Fletcher.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife and caregiver, Debra Dyson Fisher, daughter, Kim Jo Fisher, brothers; Tom, Joe, Earl, and Jerry Fisher, sisters, Martha Hubert and Lois Reeves five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and his dogs Ike and Baby Girl.

Friends are cordially invited to a join the family in honoring Ira''s memory on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 PM in the chapel. A celebration of Mr. Fisher''s Life will be held at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Rev. Willie Bellard is to officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home.
