Obituary for
Joseph Dugas
Joseph Dugas, 85, a native of Lake Arthur and a longtime resident of Lake Charles passed from this life on July 27, 2015 in a local care facility.
Despite his gruff demeanor, he will be remembered as a truly giving person, loving father, and grandfather. After retiring from the Calcasieu Parish Gravity Drainage District, he enjoyed fishing and picking up aluminum cans.
Joseph is predeceased by his parents Antione and Clara Martin Dugas, stepfatehr, Arthur Lodrigue and brothers Wilbert and William ( Billy) Dugas.
Those left to cherish his memory include, son Wilbert Joseph Dugas, daughters, Patricia Leggett (LD), Helen Dugas , Renee Jacobs ( James), and Nancy Powell, Brother, Jimmy Dugas, sister, Dorothy Perkins (Will), and 22 grandchildren , 41 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
Honored to serve as pall bearers are Magdalene Dugas, Jason Dugas, Reggie Dugas, A.J. Cain, Renee Jacobs, and James Jacobs.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 6 PM until 8 PM and again on Thursday from 8 AM until 9:30 AM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 10:00 AM Saint John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake.
Burial will follow in Andrus Cove Cemetery in Lake Arthur.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for funeral expenses
