Monica Winifred Trottier (Ryan)
Monica Winifred Trottier, 89, a long time resident of Lake Charles died peacefully on June 8, 2014 in a local care facility. Monica was born to Matthew and Winifred Ryan on August 22, 1924 in Berlin, New Hampshire.
Monica had an easy-going manner, an infectious laugh, and a great sense of humor. Family and friends were the highlight of Monica's life.She always felt personally responsible for pulling and keeping her family together. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She loved writing letters and playing cards and was known by all for her gratitude when receiving help.
Mrs. Trottier leaves behind to cherish her memory and mourn her loss, her daughter, C. Jenny Makakoa of Glendale, CA, son, Arthur Trottier and wife Marney of Virginia, three nieces, Pamela Bruney of Lake Charles, Patricia Benoit of Lake Charles, Diane Gurganus of Ragley, adopted neice Gwen Berzas, her three grandchildren, Rachel and Kelly Campbell, and Rian Trottier, one great grandchild, Aradia Trottier, and the innumerable friends that have touched her life over the last 89 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Madonna St. Clergy and brother in law Lloyd St. Clergy, her brother Paul Ryan and the love of her life her husband of 25 years Adrien V. Trottier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Jeffrey Starkovich will officiate. A private inurnment will take place at a later date. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 5:30 pm until 9:00 PM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home.
