Troy Gene Benoit, 73, of Moss Bluff, left this earth to join his heavenly family on April 6, 2014. He was born on January 30, 1941 in Jennings, LA. He retired from Montel in 1999 and was an active member of Pipefitters local 106. Troy was an avid McNeese Football fan and was a proud member of the Cowboy Club and the Petroleum Club for many years. In his earlier years, Troy was active in coaching recreational baseball and football in Vinton and Moss Bluff and was a great mentor to the youth of the area.

Troy leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 52 years Jackie Frisby Benoit, sons; Lance Benoit (Pam) and Kenny Benoit, two grandsons; Andrew and Finn Benoit, a twin sister Geraldine Bean, sister, Teresa Lagrone and countless other family members and friends who loved him dearly. Troy is preceded in death by his parents Hilton and RosaBell Benoit, brother, Larry Benoit, and his beloved son, Troy Benoit Jr. (Chaunchy).

Mr. Benoit’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Christus Hospice and Dr. Khan for their compassion and the excellent care they provided. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Mr. Benoit's memory to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.

A celebration of Troy’s life will be held on April 13, 2014at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Linscomb officiating.
