Welcome to Lakeside Funeral Home

To our community:

August 27, 2020, changed the landscape of southwest Louisiana forever. Like everyone else in our corner of the state, Lakeside Funeral Home was severely impacted by Hurricane Laura, and Hurricane Delta only compounded our devastation.

Damages Assessment:

Within 2 hours of Hurricane Laura making landfall in Cameron Parish, Lakeside Funeral Home sustained significant damage to our 79-year-old facility. The rough-cut timber, bolted roofing assembly, and years of modification was no match for the wind. The funeral home sustained catastrophic damage to the building’s envelope and its structural integrity.

Current Status:

In consultation with structural engineers, construction professionals, and our insurer, we have decided that our fare facility's rehabilitation is not an option and must be demolished. In the interim, Lakeside Funeral Home will only be able to serve families who have prearranged their funeral with us before Hurricane Laura. Our prearranged families will be serviced in alternate funeral homes in the area that have graciously offered to host us during this difficult time.

The Path Forward:
Our commitment to southwest Louisiana and the families we serve is unwavering. Shortly after the initial damage assessment was completed, plans to move forward were developed and have been deployed. We will rebuild bigger, better, and stronger. We appreciate your continued support and covet your prayers during this period of transition.

Lakeside Funeral Home and Crematory is forever #SWLA STRONG !

Sincerely,
