Obituary for Delton Joseph Bertrand
Delton Joseph Bertrand, 77, a resident of Lake Charles, passed from this life on March 1, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Bertrand will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was an accomplished barber, having practiced for over 55 years. Delton loved to play golf and ride his grandchildren around in the golf cart. He enjoyed meals at his daughter’s home and breakfast with the gang at Southern Spice. Delton loved sports and was an Avid LSU, Astros, and Saints Fan. Blessed with an outgoing and gregarious personality and gift of gab, Delton made many lifelong friends throughout his journey with us. “There will never be another one like him.”
Delton is preceded in death by his parents Weston and Joyce Mae LeBlanc Bertrand, brothers Edward and Dale Bertrand, and grandson, Joseph Paul Boudreaux.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 59 years, Betty Jean Vigee Bertrand; three children, Dana Boudreaux, and husband Blaine; Darren Bertrand and wife Lorrie, and Derek Bertrand: ten adoring grandchildren: Tiffany, Logan, Drue, Taylor, Darby, Regan, Shelby, Julia, and Olivia’ twelve great-grandchildren: Keegan, Hayden, Bryceson, Layne, Justin, Eli, Colt, Brantley, Blayden, Mason, Beckham, and Amelia; sister, Donna Shidla and husband John, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 2:00 PM until the time of service at First Church of the Nazarene located at 3940 Holly Hill Rd, Lake Charles, LA 70605. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 6:30 PM. Private burial will be held at a later date.
