David Carson, 79, a resident of Lake Charles, passed from this life on January 19, 2023, in a local nursing home surrounded by his children and all their love.

David is predeceased by his wife, Lillian Carson; parents, Robert and Dorothy Shanklin; sisters, Janice Jones and Nancy; son, Dennis Schwab; brothers, Edward and Richard Shanklin, Teddy and Bobby; and daughter-in-law Justicia Carson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Lillian Garrett and husband John of Lake Charles Carol Shanklin of Ohio, Kelly Gregory and husband Doug of Ohio; sons, Dolan Carson and wife Anna of Deridder, Brad Wright of Longville, LA, Dale Carson and Lydia of DeRidder, Daniel Carson of Lake Charles, David Shanklin and wife Pam of OH, Doug Carson and wife Nancy of OH; brother Phil Shanklin and sister Cara Lewis of OH, 29 grandchildren, and great 12 grandchildren.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family in the Sanctuary of First Nazarene Church of Lake Charles, located at 3940 Holly Hill Road, Lake Charles, LA 70605, on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 10:00 AM until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at the church at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
