Obituary for Johnny Evin Clark

Johnny Evin Clark, aged 69 and resident of Many, LA, passed away on October 17, 2022. He was born on December 5, 1952, in Stroud, OK.

Anyone who ever met Johnny, would say that he was a gentle soul. He kept to himself mostly, but was always kind to others. Johnny grew up with one brother and three sisters, all of which tried to keep him in line as best they could. His childhood was filled with all of the boyish adventures any child could ask for. He loved the outdoors and took advantage of it any time he could, especially when it came to fishing. Of course, Saturdays were for football, and Sundays were the Lord’s day and the typical Sunday ‘sit down’ dinner could never be passed up.

When Johnny was older he joined the Louisiana Army National Guard where he served as a Sargent until he was honorably discharged. While in the services he received the Louisiana Emergency Service Medal and the Louisiana Commendation Medal. After being discharged, he then became an electrician by trade until he retired. Johnny loved his children, Walter and Barbara. Anytime he talked about them, you could hear the pride in his voice. You could also hear that pride anytime he spoke of his nieces and nephews. He loved his family tremendously, they were everything to him. If there was an adventure to take with family, he was always ready. Ready to make silly faces, laugh, make memories, and tell all of the stories (multiple times) afterwards.

Johnny is survived by son, Walter Clark; daughter, Barbara Caywood; grandchildren, Isabelle, Legacy, and Joseph; siblings, Michael Clark, Alecia Acosta, Belinda Escoubas and husband Doug, Taran Kohl and husband Eric; nieces and nephews, Rolanda, Andrea, Allison, Bobby, Monica, Brandi, Jacob, Alyssa, and Abby.

He is preceded in death by father, Bobby Clark; step-father, Walter Menge, and mother, Betty Menge.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on October 31, 2022, at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss, LA under the direction of Lakeside Funeral Home.
