Obituary for DeAnna Mary Smith
DeAnna Mary Duhon Smith, 69, a resident of Lake Charles, passed from this life on April 22, 2022, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home.
DeAnna will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and Maw Maw. DeAnna’s life centered around her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an amazing cook and loved cooking for her family. She liked gardening, watching her husband play pool, traveling, and playing Bingo.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Haywood and Madora Babineaux Duhon, daughter; Lisa Smith, brother; Terry Duhon, and grandson; Derrell Smith Jr.
Mrs. Smith leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 52 years, Derrell Wendell Smith, one son; Derrell Smith and wife Kim, daughters; Sherry Smith and Ashley Smith and husband Miguel Mesa, siblings; Vanessa Paschall, Gerald Duhon, Felicia Suarez, Dorette Duhon, and Janell Duhon, and her twelve adoring grandchildren: Laci Smith, Ernest Smith, Christopher Smith, Brandon Smith, Sr., Kayla Smith, Michael Smith, Bailee Smith, Bradey Smith, Brandon Smith, Jr., Jordan Smith, Jay Lee Smith, and Zachary Smith.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022, in the sanctuary of Lake City Baptist Church from 4 PM until 8 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, in the sanctuary of Lake City Baptist Church from 9:00 until the time of service. Funeral services will be held at noon. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
