Obituary for George Farque

George Farque, 94, a resident of Lake Charles, passed from this life on April 3, 2022, in a local hospital.

Mr. Farque served with honor in the United States Navy during World War II and during the Korean Conflict. He possessed a unique and contagious sense of humor and never met a stranger.

George is preceded in death by his parents, Ralpheal and Eva Benoit Farque, wives; Shirley Sharp Hall and Barbara Hancock Farque, stepsons, David “Bubba” Holman and Billy Holman, brothers: Clement Farque and Alcide Farque.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Linda Lee Adams and husband Dwight, granddaughter Robin Miller and husband Derrick, grandson; Rodney McKeown and wife Diane, stepson; Walley “Scooter” Holman, Jr. and wife Danna, several step-great-grandchildren and step great-great-grandchildren, niece; Catherine Dore Farque, nephew; Clement “Clem” Farque, Jr. and numerous cousins.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, in the chapel of Johnson and Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 9:30 AM until 12:45 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 1:30 PM. Monsignor Danny Torres is to officiate. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Lakeside Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
