Obituary for Drury Dwayne Kyson

Drury Dwayne Kyson, 59, a resident of Sulphur, LA, was called home to be with his Lord on January 28, 2022, in a local hospital.

Dwayne will forever be remembered for his gentle, loving nature with children, comical sense of humor, intellect, and decisiveness. He was tenacious, and despite his disability, he enjoyed hunting, cooking, boiling crawfish, and drawing. Dwayne was a talented artist and excelled at detailed drawings. Mr. Kyson attended SOWELA, earned a degree in Commercial Art, and worked for a mechanical engineering firm in Tennessee. He was the ideal role model for his nephews and will forever be a Momma’s boy.

Dwayne is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph W. and Edna Fay Kyson and John and Mary Peshoff, aunt, Rebecca Thompson, uncles, Robert Peshoff and Doyle Kyson, and cousin, Deiter Kyson.

He is survived by his parents Bobby Lynn Kyson and Naomi Faye Peshoff Kyson, aunts, Ruth Isaac, Janet Peshoff, Opal Umpierre and husband Frank, Bonnie Lewis, and Helga Kyson; cousins, Ellen Schoppert and husband Steve, Shana O’Neill and husband Jim, David Thompson, Jeff Peshoff and wife Hannah, Trent Peshoff and wife Angie, Mario Umpierre, Jason Coody, Everett Jordan, Vince Jordan, and wife Linda; brother of heart, Matthew Genna and his wife Courtney and their children: Alexander, Nicholas, and Emerson and a dear friend Michael Docusen.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 10:00 AM in the sanctuary of Maplewood First Baptist Church of Sulphur. Pastor David Mosely is to officiate. Fellowship will follow the service. Mr. Kyson’s Cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home of Lake Charles. He will be laid to rest at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South.
