Obituary for Sybil A Richard
Sybil Ann Richard, 82, a resident of Lake Charles, passed from this life on June 29, 2021, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by those she loved most.
Sybil was a loving mother, sister, and adoring grandmother. In her spare time, she loved to play bingo, fish, crab, and play Booray. She was a devout catholic and was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church. She was a friend of Bill W’s for 52 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and being pampered by them. In her youth, she loved dancing and excelled at the jitterbug.
Mrs. Richard is preceded in death by her parents, Alexander, and Alice Mae Painter Savant; husband, Warner “Sonny” Richard, Jr., two sons, Wilfred Wimberly, Sr. and John A. Wimberly and two grandchildren, Wilfred J. and Warren Wimberly.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Alberta Davis and husband Kevin, Kevin Wimberly, Jennifer Thornton and husband Kenneth, Edward James Wimberly, and Christopher Todd Wimberly; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Dolores Savant, Joseph Savant, and wife Judy, Percy Savant and wife Geraldine, and Pierre Savant and fiancé Deborah.
Visitation will be held at Johnson and Brown Funeral Home in Iowa on Friday, July 2, 2021, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue on July 3, 2021, from 8:00 AM until departure for the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park.
