Robert Linus Caswell, 83, a resident of Lake Charles, passed from this life onto his eternal reward on February 22, 2021, in the comfort of his home surrounded by those he loved most.

Mr. Caswell was a native of Jennings, Louisiana, and graduated from Jennings High School, where he played football. Robert served with distinction in the United States Air Force, where he retired after 20 years of honorable and dedicated service. Mr. Caswell's three grandsons followed in his footsteps in rendering their country service in the United States Military. He later served as sales manager for the Lake Charles American Press. Mr. Caswell was ever faithful to his Lord and savior. He served as a Deacon at University Baptist Church, where he and his wife worshiped every Sunday.

In his spare time, he enjoyed golf, traveling in his motorhome, and spending time with his family, which included chasing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to their sporting and military functions all over the country. He was known to all the teams as “Paw.” He served as President of the Neighborhood Watch Program. He took great pride in manicuring his lawn. No one could do it as well as him.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 25, 2021, in the sanctuary of University Baptist Church from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, February 26, 2021, from 9:00 Am until 10:00 Am. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 am, Friday, February 26, 2021, in the sanctuary of University Baptist Church. Dearest Caswell family, my deepest sympathy’s. There are so many memories I have of him. The most recent and memorable was the celebration of 80! What a tribute to a wonderful husband and father. Highlight was when Jim Croce’s Bad Bad Leroy Brown came on and I danced and sang with Mrs C. My dad was smiling down on us Junkyard Dogs. Forever in my heart you will be Mr C!

What an honor it was to know this man and his family. I didn’t know he had a real name lol he was always known as Paw. You will always have a special place in my heart. You helped me out in a very emotional time in my life. You raised one heck of a family, always willing to help out in times of need. Rest now Paw you’ve earned it. Love Pam (Sandoval)
