Carol Winn Vincent, 56, was born January 24, 1964. She passed away on January 10, 2021 from gynecological carcinosarcoma.
Carol was a 1982 graduate of LaGrange High School where she was a member of the band and orchestra. Carol began her working career at Abe’s Grocery at 13 years old where she learned the importance of hard work from her mother, Miss Irene. Most who shopped there knew her simply as “Miss Irene’s daughter.” It was here, with the matchmaking magic of Miss Irene, that Carol met the love of her life of 33 years, John Vincent. Carol worked at Marcantel’s Grocery in college and through business school. Upon finishing business school, Carol worked for the Family Practice Office of Drs. LeBeau and Primeaux for 20 years. In 2011, Carol and John set out on an adventure to be business owners. Together, they ran Whispering Creek Lodging and RV Park for 9 years. Carol proclaims this interaction with customers, and this journey in her life, as her witness to others. All who visited Whispering Creek were sure to see the love of the Lord through everything she was a part of.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Irene Thibodeaux Winn.
Carol is survived by her father, John Winn; her loving husband, John Eric Vincent; daughters, Melissa LeBlanc and husband, Stephen; Kellie Vincent, and fiance’, James Mason; grandson who she loved “big, big, BIG like the world”, Owen John LeBlanc. She is also survived by her brother Craig Winn and wife Lynette Winn, nieces who she loved like daughters, Brittany Kingsley and husband Chris, and Amber Kussmann and husband Curtis, great nephews, Cade and Aiden Kussmann and great nieces Ryan Kingsley and Ellie Kussmann.
Carol fought strong and lived by her favorite verse Joshua 1:9-Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. DO NOT BE AFRAID, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Carol was a strong fighter and chose to fight to the end with dignity stating the following: “I don’t want to live my life for chemo; I want to live my life for Carol.” And that she did.
