Obituary for Charlotte Johnson (Talley)

Charlotte Talley Johnson, 76, born June 10, 1944, to the union of Harold and Willie Ray Talley, passed from this life unto her eternal reward on December 28, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Johnson will be forever remembered for her warm and loving nature. She never met a stranger and loved to laugh. Mrs. Charlotte loved her family and loved to participate in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was a woman of unwavering faith and was a member of University United Methodist Church. For most of her life, she was a manager in the finance business for many years and provided a warm, loving home for her husband and children. She was an active member of her “Small Group” Prayer Group, played Pokeno, enjoyed going on cruises, and enjoyed an active Facebook life. She was well known for her love of cooking and having her family over for meals and holidays. Mr. Roland and Mrs. Charlotte were the glue of their family and took great pride in them.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Willie Ray Sumrall Talley; husband, Roland Johnson, Sr. and sister, Julie Grooms.

Those left to cherish her memory are her eight children, Roland John Johnson Jr. (Johnny) of DeRidder, LA, Terry Johnson and wife Karen of Sulphur, Debbie Parrish of DeRidder, Roxanne Cummings of Lake Charles, Lydia Stanley and husband Gerry of DeRidder, Kenny Johnson and wife Lisa of Iowa, Steven Moe and wife Donna of Moss Bluff, Leslie Hensley and husband Roger of Moss Bluff; sister, Sally Sawyer and husband Tom of Westlake; 24 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.


Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on December 31, 2020, from 2:00 PM until the time of service in the chapel of Johnson and Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. A celebration of Mrs. Johnson's Life will follow at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Johnson and Brown Funeral Home. The Rev. Bill Saxby is to officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson and Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
