Obituary for Dana Bobolyne Jones (VanDyke)

Dana Bobolyne Jones, 90, a resident of Sulphur, La, passed from this life on July 23, 2020.

Dana was born in Shreveport, La. After traveling and raising two children as a military wife, she made Sulphur her home. Her mother established the Fabric House in Lake Charles and she continued the legacy, along with her siblings, until retirement. She was wildly creative and so very stylish, often designing and sewing her own threads. She was an active member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) serving as a deacon and honored as the oldest living member in 2019.

Dana was always up for an adventure and she will be remembered for her kind, fun loving, and compassionate spirit. She was deeply devoted to her family and loved spending time with friends. Often you could find her on the back patio on a Sunday afternoon enjoying a sunset, BBQ ribs, and a well made cocktail with her loved ones!

She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Madolyne Robbins VanDyke; husband, Bill Jones; sister, Gloria Dixon, brothers, Dick VanDyke and Jim VanDyke, and the father of her children, Charles Krause, Sr.

Dana leaves to cherish her memory her children, Vicki DeHaven and husband John, Chuck Krause and wife Becky; grandchildren, Creed Romano and wife Aimee, Lindsay Bezet and husband Jerry, and Paige Krause and wife Marla Kristicevich; great grandchildren, Ethan Bezet, Cameron Romano, and William Bezet, and one aunt, Betty “Pig” Webster.

Mrs. Jones will be laid to rest next to her husband and family in a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Sulphur, Louisiana
