Obituary for Chester Wesley Carr

Chester passed away on July 18, 2020. He was born in Lake Charles La. and graduated from Lake Charles High, class of 1968. Mr. Carr was born into First United Methodist Church where he was a member for many years, and was a devoted, lifelong salesman of all trades. He fulfilled his dream of owning a Louisiana seafood restaurant by operating the Sugar Mill Seafood Patio in Breaux Bridge for many years. He served his Lake Charles community by working the voting polls at the courthouse for elections. Chester lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for his fun-loving mentality. He also enjoyed fishing, crabbing, cooking, and getting a good deal.

He leaves behind to remember him, three children Vicki Buckman, Casey, and Wesley Carr, step-mother Daisetta Carr, and aunt; Genelle Carrier. Grandchildren Mason and Andrew Buckman, and Kaleb Carr. Along with a host of cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Tessie May, stepfather James “Jimmy” May, and father Chester M. Carr.

A visitation and memorial service will be held at University Baptist Church on Saturday, July 25, 2020. Visitation at 12:00 pm and memorial at 1:00 pm. Pastor John Astling will officiate. Cremation is entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home.
