Mera Annette Morgan Hoffpauir departed July 5, 2020 to the greatest destination into eternal life after a long battle with Metastatic Breast cancer.
She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend. She had many endearing names: MiMi, GaGa, Momma, and Sissy. Mera was an avid crafter, gardner, expert bargain shopper, who enjoyed garage sales, flea markets, and thrift stores. For all that knew her, the unique creativity, quirky sense of humor, and animated presence will be greatly missed with each successive milestone or holiday. However, because of all the treasured memories, stories, and tales, she will be with us in spirit and won’t be forgotten. There will never be a soul created like our beloved mama. We are so thankful to God for the privilege and blessing of her role in all our lives.
Mera was joyously reunited with the loved ones who had traveled before her: parents William Henry Morgan and Margaret Augusta Kelly, and brothers William Morgan and Terry Morgan, and husband Raymond Hoffpauir JR. Because of the separation from those previously mentioned, her love of crowds, and being the life of any party, there must have been the grandest celebration upon her arrival.
Mera is loved dearly by her surviving sisters Catherine Conner spouse Lynn Conner of Lake Charles, Josie Sanders of Ohio, and Marcia Dupin of Baton Rouge, La. Some of her friends, to name just a few, who shared in her recent life adventures were Dracey Billings of Kinder, La. and Rhonda Goux of Baton Rouge, La.
Mrs. Hoffpauir leaves a legacy of family to cherish her memory: three children Regina Lynn Kingham spouse Sean Kingham, Jo-Anne Rougeau spouse Jay Rougeau, Allen Hoffpauir spouse Dynette Hoffpauir all of Lake Charles, La.
She adored the blessings of her ten Grandchildren, and two Great Granddaughters. Mera also loved spending time with her many Nieces, Nephews, Grand Nieces, and Grand Nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home and again on, Wednesday, July 8, 2020 from 8:00 AM until time of service. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service. Mrs. Hoffpauir will be interred next to her husband at Highland Memory Gardens at a later date.
