Obituary for Doris Duhon

Doris Duhon, 92, a lifelong resident of Lake Charles passed from this life onto her eternal reward on January 26, 2020 in a local care facility surrounded by her loving family.

Doris will long be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a dutiful mother and wife and dedicated her life to family as a fulltime mother to her five children. Her children remember her tenacity, strong will and work ethic. She loved Cajun-French Music, dancing, and visiting with her family and friends. Doris was a woman of unshakable faith and a practicing catholic until she became unable.

Mrs. Duhon is preceded in death by her husband Earl Duhon, parents; Sandrus and Grace Benoit Ogea, two great grandchildren and seven of her siblings.

Doris leaves to cherish her sweet memory her five children: Barbara Ellen Duhon-Cox, Debra Duhon, Eva Rita Bellomo- Carlin and husband Larry, Lydia Duhon, and Henry Earl Duhon and wife Lisa, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, two brothers; Huey Ogea and wife Mary Jane and Alvin Ogea, several nieces and nephews and a very special cousin George Farque.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 9:00 AM until time of service. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Deacon George Carr is to officiate. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Brighton Bridge Hospice and Grand Cove for their care and compassion during Mrs. Duhon’s illness.
