Obituary for Glynn "Pookie" Anthony Benoit
Glynn Anthony Benoit, 50, a native of Westlake, LA and resident of Dennison, TX passed from this life on July 6, 2019 surrounded by his family.
“Pookie” as he was known by his family and close friends was always a child at heart. Pookie was an amazing dad, loving son, and great grandfather. He lived his life to its fullest. He loved to ride bikes, working on bikes, and being at the BMX Track. He gave the gift of life through organ donation and saved and enhanced many lives through his final act of kindness.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dallance and Alice Roy Manuel, paternal grandparents, Elton and June LeJeune Benoit; uncle, Craig Manuel, and aunt, Sylvia Faye Benoit.
Glynn leaves to cherish his memory his children; Joel Benoit and wife Santana, Jordan Benoit and wife Hannah, Shelby Benoit and fiancé Terry Bilbo, and Broden Benoit; mother, Teena Benoit; father, Glynn Abel Benoit; nine grandchildren: Khiara, Kyce, Karter, Rhiana, Brilyn, Jordan, Adalynn, Demi’lynn, and Kinsleigh; sisters, Kelli Mims and husband Mike, Lacey Guillory and husband Nick, Jessica Henson and fiance’ Logan Gandy; brother, Christopher Benoit and Caroline, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 10:00 AM until time of service in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Gary Evers is to officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home.
