Obituary for John Wayne Benoit
John Wayne Benoit, 71, a resident of Lake Charles gained his wings January 15, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
John Wayne was a man full of life. He loved people and never met a stranger. His outgoing personality was welcoming to everyone he met. He loved spending time with his children and his grandchildren. FAMILY was one of the most important things to him. He worked many years as a truck driver. He retired at an early age from Hydro-Chem as a hydro blaster supervisor.
He is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Hazel Benoit, his son Justin “Blake” Benoit and brother Carl Benoit.
John Wayne leaves to cherish his memory children William “Billy” Benoit and wife Erin of Baton Rouge, LA, Darrell Benoit of Iowa, LA, Brandy Guidry and husband Chris of Lake Charles, LA and Jason Benoit and wife Donna of Texas, grandchildren: Devoni, Caitlin, Emily, David Wayne, Jason Jr, Aleigha, Kenleigh, and Raeleigh Benoit - Steven, Chasity and Dylan Guidry and 1 great grandson Kason Guidry, sisters, Linda Fruge Myers and husband Phil of Jennings, LA, Barbara Benoit of Lake Charles and Beaulah “Boo” Eskind of Lake Charles and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many other extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 8:00 AM until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday. Deacon Patrick LaPoint is to officiate. Cremation will follow the service.
