Obituary for James Baxter
James William Baxter, 70, a native of Morristown, Tennessee and a resident of Iowa, LA passed from this life on December 13, 2018 in the comfort of his home.
Mr. Baxter was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend. He was devoted to the love of his life and wife of 35 years Delta. His family will forever remember his loving, kind, and generous spirit. He loved watching basketball, going to the movies and making everyone laugh. In his younger days, he was an avid basketball and racquetball player. He lived his life with honor, respect, decency that will go unmatched. James served with honor in the United States Air Force and retired after 21 years of service as a Senior Master Sergeant and later retired from United Airlines.
Mr. Baxter is predeceased by his parents George Alvin and Sally Virginia Rader Baxter, his uncles James Rader, William Rader, and aunt, Georgie Rader.
James leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Delta Feliciano Baxter, sister, Elizabeth Ellis of Georgia, brothers, George Richard Baxter of Morristown, TN and John Edward Baxter and wife Susan Rikki of Delray Beach Florida, nieces, Jennifer Ellis Louthan and husband Robert, Danielle Serena Tomasello, Kori Nichole Baxter, Kelly Alexis Baxter, as well as several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 8:30 AM until time of service. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home at 10:00 AM. Rev. Robin Norris is to officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
