After a hard-fought, yearlong battle with cancer, Richard Louis Shaw, Jr. 57, a resident of Lake Charles, passed away on November 15, 2018, surrounded by his family.

He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather. Richard was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt, fish, and golf. He was a kind, hardworking, man of God. He was a member of the Saint Martin de Porres church where he served as a member of the Pastoral Council, a Eucharistic Minister, and ACTS.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Louis Shaw, Sr. and his brother, Matthew Neal Shaw.

Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Gina Scalisi Shaw; son, Justin Shaw and wife Kaili of Lake Charles; daughter, Courtney Castaneda and husband Bernardo of Dallas, TX; mother, Shirley Ann LeDoux Shaw of Moss Bluff; Siblings, Stacy Manuel and husband Danny, Pam Cooley and husband Robert, and David Shaw and wife Terri; grandchildren, Hannah Mills, Tanner Shaw, and River Castaneda. Richard will forever be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, November 18, 2018, in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 10:15. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM at Saint Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the St. Lawrence Catholic Church Cemetery in Raymond, LA.
