Obituary for JoAnn Rodrigue

JoAnn Blanchard Rodrigue, 76, a resident of Kinder passed from this life on June 28, 2018 in a local care center.

JoAnn was loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. In her spare time, she loved writing poetry, painting artwork, working in her yard, and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She possessed a very strong will and had a strong faith in God and a certain wisdom her family drew upon in their time of need.

Mrs. Rodrigue is predeceased by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Joe and Lyola King Blanchard, her eleven siblings: Verle Blanchard, Garnett Reeves, Joe Blanchard, Bill Blanchard, Emile Blanchard, Delores Harson, Betty Opp, Joy Atkins, Rosalie Boyter, Grace Potter, and Gloria Richardson, and her best friend, Maureen Goudeaux.

JoAnn is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Edward Rodrigue, Jr., two daughters; Penny Veillon and husband Ray, Pam Duhon and husband Steve, two sons; Craig Rodrigue and wife Donna and Ricky Rodrigue and wife Rhonda, thirteen grandchildren: Paul Ray Veillon, Samantha Ralls, Christina Monceaux, Jason Duhon, Jennifer King, Richard Hooper, Jason Rodrigue, Debra Rodrigue, Megan Lubner, Chad Anderson, Joey Rodrigue, Brandi Guidry, and Josh Rodrigue, and twenty-eight great grandchildren.

Mrs. Rodrigue’s cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of New Life Church at 1010 Shady Lane, Westlake, LA 70669.
