DORIS NIX FREEMAN BERGERON, 82, left this world on February 19, 2018 to be with the Lord. She has been a resident of Lake Charles, LA since 1970.

BORN June 12, 1935 in Longview, Texas to Charlie Elmer and Nettie Lee Grimes Nix. Doris is proceeded in death by her parents, brother Wm Melton Nix and niece Rachel Nix Moore.

Doris was a bookkeeper for over 50 years. After retirement, she spent time with the family she loved and her flower garden. She was a much loved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She will be remembered for her kindness and always putting everyone else’s happiness and needs first.
Left to cherish Doris’ memory are her children, Teresa Freeman Hitt (Paul), Cheyrl Freeman O’Quinn (Dexter), Bruce Freeman (Nancy); her grandchildren: Jerid Hitt (Jolene), Laura O’Quinn (Lancey), Cody O’Quinn (Lori); great-grandchildren: Ethan, Kira, Jonathan and Collin Hitt, Cayden O’Quinn, Taylor Conner, Bennett and Emma O’Quinn. Along with her beloved sister(-in-law) Delma Jean Pepper Nix and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at Chalk Hill Community Church (Texas) on March 17, 2018.
