Christouvle Fontenot, 62, a lifelong resident of Lake Charles passed from this life on January 16, 2018 in a local care facility.
Chris will be remembered as a loving son, father, and husband. He had a huge smile that would light up a room and possessed a huge heart and would have given anyone the shirt off of his back. Chris was generous to a fault and was an excellent carpenter. He will be greatly missed at the family functions he so loved.
Mr. Fontenot is predeceased by his father, George Fontenot, and brothers; Bernard Batchan, Vernon Fontenot, grandson, Isaiah Fontenot.
Chris leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Marlene Johnson Fontenot, children; Dazarae Lynette Fontenot, Marlissa Christina Fontenot, Christouvle George Fontenot , Joshua Jamal Fontenot, Olishia Monique Conner all of Lake Charles, Kristel Fontenot of Baton Rouge, and Freddie Johnson, Nathanial Johnson, Holly Simien, and Shannon Leday, mother, Gertrude Fontenot, sisters: Jocelyn James, Melody Fontenot, Charlene Fontenot, brothers, Kennan Fontenot and Lathaniel Fontenot, fifteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and goddaughters, Sherida Fontenot Rideaux and Anitra " Nicky'' Coit.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 8:00 AM until 10:15AM in the Chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Wayne LeBlue is to officiate. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Juanita Darbonne Fontenot for all the love and care she had showed Chris and the family during this difficult time.
