Alfredo Sanchez Mendez, Jr., 62, a resident of Lake Charles was born in San Antonio TX, on October 3, 1955 and passed from this life on December 27, 2017 after a brief illness.
Alftredo was a single father to his three children. He as a jack of all trades and could fix cars, build and remodel homes, and fix almost anything. After moving to Louisiana from San Antonio TX, Alfredo moved to Oklahoma to help his older brother tend cattle which he loved doing. After a time in Oklahoma, Alfredo decided to return to Louisiana to be with his beloved family.
Alfredo is predeceased by his father, Alfredo Sanchez, Sr., and sister, Yolanda Gonzales.
Alfredo leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Fabian Mendez and wife Ashley Gilbert of Lake Charles, daughters, Crystal Lynn Mendez of Poteet, TX and Floridna Mendez and Husband Willie Davis of Lake Charles, mother, Angelia Mendez, sisters, Sylvia Artiz, Erma Ocanas, Mary Roberts, Estella Mendez; brothers, Eloy Mendez and Oscar Mendez; grandchildren, Nina Flores, Natalya Flores, Nevaeh Flores, Nayleen Flores, Fabian Mendez, Jr., Nalona Mendez, Aydenn Davis, Gabriel Mendez, Lillian Davis, and Lelany Davis, and numerous friends and extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 8:00 AM until time of service in the Chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. A service of remembrance will be held at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service.
