Obituary for Douglas Wayne Bodine

Douglas “Bo” Bodine, 65, was born in Texarkana, AR. On December 12, 1952. Bo played his last drum beat surrounded by loved ones on December 17, 2017 but will play eternally in Heaven.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sadie Lee Bodine.

Those left behind are his wife and best friend, Deborah Bodine, son-Jacob Wayne Bodine, daughter-Jennifer Harmon, father-Derald (Marie) Bodine, sister- Candace Dennie, granddaughters, MaKena, Callie and Kyndall and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bo carried on his father’s passion for drumming as he began playing in his early teens and continued playing until just a few years ago. Most of his life was spent in the Dallas, Texas area, where he played professionally for many different bands. Over his 45 plus years of playing, he has made many lifelong friends that will cherish his memory for ever. He was the type of person that once you met him, you would not forget him.
He was a wonderful son, husband, father, and grandfather. He lived life to the fullest and took every opportunity to capture those memories in the treasure trove of pictures and recordings of his career in music that he has accumulated over the years. Besides his love of music, he loved animals, drawing, and working with his hands.

He carried a great sense of humor to the end. There will be a hole in the hearts of those he touched that can only be filled by our incredible memories of the special times spent with him.

In accordance with Bo’s wishes, he will be cremated.
