Obituary for Roy James Arabie

Mr. Roy James Arabie, 74, a native of Fenton, LA and long time resident of Lake Charles, LA passed from this life on July 30, 2015 with his family at his side.

Mr. Arabie served his country honorably in the United States Army and retired from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Department after 16 years of service. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family and raising and racing horses. Roy lived his life in a manner that brought a smile to everyone he met.

He is predeceased by his parents Wilson Arabie and Bertha Johnice, his wife, Barbara Kay Labiche, two sons, Keith and Darrin Arabie, and three sisters, Gennieve, Loulabell, and Diane.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Janet Wainwright Arabie, daughter, Danya Davis of Lake Charles, sons, Craig Arabie of Moss Bluff, Eric Arabie ( Charla) of Iowa, Dean Arabie (Jessica) of Lake Charles, Donald Arabie of Lake Charles, Shannon Arabie (Ashley) of Sulphur, and Troy Wainwright-Arabie of Lake Charles, three brothers, Robert, Gerald, and Tommy Arabie, thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.


Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Friday July 31, 2015 from 4 PM until 9 PM in the Chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 8 AM until 8:45 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday August 1, 2015 at 9 AM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Rev. Jeffery Starkovich is to officiate. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery. A rosary will be prayed on Friday evening at 7 PM.
