Obituary for Ruby A. Henke

The family of Ruby Henke of Lake Charles regretfully announce her passing from this life on July 31, 2018 at the age of 94. Ruby was born on September 9, 1923 in Eunice, Louisiana.

Ruby worked as a bookkeeper in a rice mill until her marriage to the late Sgt. Robert M. Lundgren. After her husband’s death in 1963, she returned to Lake Charles where she clerked for Muller’s Department Store. She had the good fortune to meet and marry Fred R. Henke (deceased), a chemist at W.R. Grace. He influenced her to take on a position at W.R. Grace Credit Union where she worked until their retirement.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Christine (Roy) Marcantel, Karen (Dale) Alexander, Jon (Trudy) Henke, Sue (Roger, deceased) Smith, Yvonne (Ron) Coleman, and Janice (Tim) Airhart. A special thank you to the wonderful staff of Amedysis Hospice Staff for their care, kindness, and compassion.
