Mr. Rickey J. Vallier, 58 a native of Lake Charles and resident of Dallas, Texas passed from this life on March 31, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Rick was a humble father, loving brother and uncle. He served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Marine Corps. He captured our attention and imagination with his wonderful intellect, and was a lifelong learner, particularly with a love for scripture. He held an undergraduate degree in political science, master’s in government, and continued with doctoral studies. Rick lived his life to the fullest and maintained strong faith in our Lord.

Rick is predeceased by his parents Herbert and Dorothy Boutte Vallier; sister, Rosalind Vallier-Johnson; brother, David Vallier, and niece Brianna Vallier.

He leaves to cherish his memory his one son, Raphael Vallier and Raphael's mother Tonya Toussaint, grandson, Chase Vallier; brothers, Herb Vallier and wife Maria of Ohio, Kevin Vallier and wife Gina Richard, Brian Vallier and wife Brenda both of Lake Charles, and Steven Vallier of Ohio, and a wonderful extended family of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 8 AM until time of service in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10 AM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Burial with Military will follow at Consolata Cemetery
