Obituary for Dwight Marcantel

Norbert Dwight Marcantel, 66, a native of Eunice and longtime resident of Lake Charles passed from this life on December 27, 2017 in the comfort of his home.

Dwight was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Poppy as he was known to his grandchildren adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. In his spare time, Dwight loved cooking, cracking jokes, and talking about horses. He was dearly loved by all of those who knew him and possessed a very gentle and kind nature.

He is predeceased by his parents, Hampton and Elta Chapman Marcantel, and his sister, Christine Delayne Marcantel.

Dwight leaves to cherish his memory, daughter; Ginger Marcantel Webb and husband Kane of Lake Charles, son; K. C. Marcantel and wife Kelli of Moss Bluff, sisters; Judith Vallow and husband Jerry and Yvonne Broussard and husband Benny, brother; Carroll Marcantel and wife Judy, his five loving grandchildren: Hope Hebert, Kana Webb, Molly Webb, Quinn Marcantel, and Isla Marcantel, and former wife, Belinda Lewing Marcantel.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 10:00 AM until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Monsignor Charles Dubois is to officiate. Cremation will follow the service and burial will take place at a later date.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff from Heart of Hospice and his compassionate caregivers Rita Fontenot, Kayla Pultz and Kendra Brown.
