Obituary for Dorothy Guillot (Saucier)

Dorothy Guillot (Saucier)
Dorothy Mae Guillot, 96, of Lake Charles passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, in her home surrounded by her family and caregivers. Dot was born in Simmesport, Louisiana. She met the love of her life, Francis Guillot of Fordouche, Louisiana. while working in a restaurant. After marrying, they produced four children; Michael Sidney, Judith Kay, Marian Ann, and Gail Maria Guillot.

Dot is survived by her son Michael (wife Janice), daughters Judith Riling (George) Marian Chronister (husband Mark); four grandchildren, Kristine Handley (husband Padrick), Denise Hoyle, Eric Guillot, and Brandy Grantham; and 7 great-grandchildren, Jimmy Hoyle, Jake Handley, Arden, Colin, and Brock Grantham, Reagan Caro, and Cadence Riling.

Dot was preceded in death by her husband of 60+ years, Francis J. Guillot, Jr., her daughter, Gail Guillot; granddaughters Sara Ann Chronister, and grandson David Lee Riling.

Dot was a devoted wife and mother. Many family gatherings, especially Sunday bar-b-ques, were held in her home. She and Francis bowled together in leagues and loved to play cards with friends and family. She spent many years supporting C.A.R.C. activities and was a life long member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church and later Our Lady Queen of Heaven.

Visitation is Friday, December 22, 2017, from 12:00 to 2:00 at Lakeside Funeral Home in Lake Charles, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 officiated by Father Trey Ange.

The family wishes to thank Harbor Hospice, who were so caring and giving to Dot during her illness. Special thanks go to caregivers Haiden Rider, and Margaret Poke (Neisi). We could not have gotten through this without you. Thank you for becoming part of our family.
