Obituary for Ronald Wayne Norris

Ronald Wayne Norris was born on February 15,1947 and passed away on Saturday December 2, 2017 after a brief illness.

Ronnie was a naval veteran who served with distinction in the Vietnam Conflict receiving the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a patriot who enlisted and served his country as a fighter jet mechanic aboard the air craft carrier Oriskany off the coast of Vietnam.

He is survived by two children, Brent Norris and Kimberly Lowery, 5 grandchildren; Alexis Sanders, Kaitlyn Yentzen, Russell Yentzen Jr., Moises Norris and Race Norris, 1 great-grandchild, Tristan Sanders and his sister and brother-in-law Nelda and Bill Jackson. The love he had for his mother, Opal Norris, was well known by all before her death in 2015.

Ronnie’s passing is a tremendous loss not only to his family but to the community of loving friends he leaves behind. He was quick to overlook short comings and find the good in other people. Ronnie was a man of integrity and a faithful friend. Accounts of his kindness and generosity are endless. His wit and enjoyment for pranks will be recounted by so many for a long time to come. Our hearts are grieved with the passing of this beloved father and friend.
