Obituary for
Floyd Lee Romero
Floyd Lee " Shorty" Romero, 85, a resident of Lake Charles went home to be with his Lord on September 17, 2017 in a local hospital.
Mr. Romero was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He served with honor in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He strove daily to support and meet the needs of this family. His greatest joy was his family and being outdoors. Mr. Romero was an Iron Worker at Olmstead Ship Yard for many years before his retirement. He took great pride in building boats for himself and others.
He is predeceased by his parents; Joe Romero and Emma Dale Daigle Romero, brothers; Joseph and Johnny Vigo, and sisters; Darlene Reed and Joyce Istre.
Floyd leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 62 years Annie Mae Miller Romero, two daughters; Vicky O'Meara of Lake Charles and Carol Stafford of Youngsville, son; Tony Lee Romero of Youngsville, grandchildren; Rachael Smith, Jeremy Wilson, David and Nicholas Lawson, Christopher Oneal (Christina), Amanda Cazedessus (Nathaniel), and Krystal Champagne, sixteen great-grandchildren, brothers; Henry Romero, Frank, Kelly, and Billy Vigo, sisters; Mary Jo Thompson, Theresa Garcia, Julia Ravia, Lena Bell Dalovisio and Nora Bell Romero.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 3 PM until 8 PM and again on Wednesday from 10 AM until time of service in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 2 PM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Pastor Kelly Vigo is to officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens with Military Honors.
