Obituary for Earl Pike

Earl Walter Pike, 85, a native of Cleveland, Tennessee and longtime resident of Lake Charles passed from this life on July 2, 2017 after a brief illness.

“Earl The Pearl” as he was affectionately known was a loving father, brother, and grandfather. Mr. Pike served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army during the Korean War and the United Sta1tes Air Force after being discharged from the U.S. Army. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Forty and Eight, and the VFW. Earl was awarded a Purple Heart, two Bronze Star, and the Korean Service Medal. After his military career, he worked for Beverage Sales for 20 years.

Earl is predeceased by his parents Eldrick and Paralee Malone Pike, brothers, Gordon Pike, Eldrick Ray Pike, Jr., Melvin Pike, Norman Pike, one sister Geraldine Pike, and one great granddaughter, Kyleigh Manuel.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Nancy Desormeaux (Jeff), Deborah Esthay, Tammy Manuel (Jay), Brenda Vezina (David), Sabrina Smith, and Tammy Parrish, sons, Earl Pike (Candy), and Michael Johnson, brothers, Dennis Pike (Faye), Reese Pike, and Millard Pike, one sister, Nancy Davis, 18 grandchildren, 2 adopted grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and his lifelong friend Freddie Comeaux.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on July 5, 2017 from 1:30 PM until time of service in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 4 PM. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM. Monsignor Jace Eskind is to officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home. Burial will follow Hillcrest Cemetery in Cleveland, Tennessee.
