Michael Wayne LaRocca, 58, a resident of Lake Charles passed from this life on June 25, 2017 in a local hospital surrounded by those he loved the most.
"Mike" or "Rockyday" as he was affectionately known will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. Mike was a compassionate, softhearted man who excelled at practical jokes. He retired from the Lake Charles Fire Department after 30 years of distinguished service as a driver. Rockyday was an avid baseball and horse racing fan. He enjoyed golfing and being outdoors in his younger years and truly loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is predeceased by parents, Louis " Bear" and Lou Ogea LaRocca.
Mr. LaRocca leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 29 years, Judy Kimball LaRocca of Lake Charles, daughters, Melanie Ison and husband Victor of Lake Charles, Pamela Young of Lake Charles, Angela Soileau and husband Robert of Lake Charles, one son, David Young and wife Dana of Lake Charles, sister, Donna LaRocca of Lake Charles, grandchildren: Derick James Walters, Christopher Walters, Brittany Ebersole, Jessica Soileau, Jennifer Ison, Bailey Young, Kelsey Hartman, Lindsey Clement, and Cadence Hartman, four great grandchildren; Rylee Walters, Whitlee Walters, Jaxon Walters, and Cohen Richards, two special nieces, Ahna Myers and Candice Vincent, great nieces and nephews Hunter Trahan ,Addison Vincent, Ashley Vincent, and Raygan Trahan, great great niece, Arabella Vincent.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 10 AM until 6:30 PM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue after the service until 9 PM. Mr. Robin Hood is to officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home.
