Dwayne Matthews, 57, a resident of Westlake, LA passed from this life and met his Lord and Savior on June 14, 2017 in a local hospital.

Mr. Matthews loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He possessed a very strong work ethic and provided well for his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend and was a diehard FORD fan. Dwayne served with honor and distinction in the United States Navy
.
He is predeceased by his parents Paul and Lillie Mae Romero Matthews, and niece, Helen LeBleu.

Dwayne leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Rebecca Lynn Laibach Matthews of Westlake; son, Luke Russell Paul Matthews of Westlake, LA; daughter, Sarah Rebekah Matthews; three sisters, Molly LeBleu and husband Michael, Donna Meche and husband David, and Charlotte Abney and husband Kevin, nieces; Tanya Roy and husband Brian, Madison Abney; Great nieces and nephews: Laura, Hunter, and Carsyn.

A celebration gathering for Dwayne's Life will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 5 PM until 8 PM at New Life Church Located at 1010 Shady Lane, Westlake, LA 70669. Cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
