Blumes Joseph "Joey" Briscoe, Jr, 50, a lifelong resident of Lake Charles passed away in the comfort of his home on May 12, 2017.

Joey as he was affectionately known worked at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in the Maintenance Department, Mere's Grocery, and as a bar tender. He will be remembered as a loving brother, uncle, and friend. He was a very good natured and loved having a good time. He enjoyed karaoke and was very gregarious and generous to a fault.

Joey is predeceased by his parents Blumes Joseph Briscoe, Sr. and Ida Marie Smith Briscoe.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Elizabeth Briscoe Riley and Pamela Briscoe Mancil both of Lake Charles, aunts, Nita Touchet of Sulphur and Cecile Thibodeaux of Jennings, nephew, Briant Rutherford of Withita Falls, TX, two nieces, Kimberly Ball of Bell City and Katie Mancil of Lake Charles, six great nieces, one great nephews, and his four legged friend Little Man.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 11 AM until 3 PM. The family request that at 3 PM friends and family share their favorite memories of Joey. Cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home.
