Obituary for Louise Dawn Smith (Vitello)

Louise Vitello Smith, 85, a resident of Lake Charles passed from this life into the next on April 29, 2017 in the comfort of her own home.

Mrs. Louise was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother. She was a Registered Nurse until her retirement. In her spare time, she loved spending time with her grandson, reading her bible, and was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Lake Charles.

Mrs. Smith is predeceased by her parents Emile Angelo and Clevie Mae Penny Vitello, her former husband, William G. Smith, and, brother, Kenneth Earl Vitello.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her two loving daughters; Leslie Ann Smith and Lisbeth "Libby" Smith Williams and husband David all of Lake Charles; one grandson, Paul David Williams of Kenner, LA, sister June Ann Vitello Wadley, sister-in-law, Jean Webster Vitello of Lake Charles, and nieces and nephews: Bonnie Lynn Vitello Duhon, Kenneth Webster Vitello, Keith Alan Vitello, Vickie Elaine Vitello Sherer, William Dane Wadley, Earl Todd Wadley, Robert Ness Wadley, and Kara Paige Wadley.

Friends are cordially invited to a gathering with the family on Tuesday May 2, 2017 from 6 PM until 9 PM in the Chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home and again from 9 AM until time of service on Wednesday. A celebration of Mrs. Smith’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 11 AM. Rev. Andy Buckley is to officiate. Private inurnment will follow at a later date.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Christus St. Patrick's Home Health, Christus St. Patrick's Hospice, and the sitters from Lake Charles Memorial Hospital Private Duty for their compassionate care and professionalism during Mrs. Smith’s illness.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Mrs. Smith's memory.
