Betty Lou Anderson Brownell, 72, a resident Ragley, LA passed from this life on April 9, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Betty was a long time educator with Louisiana and Texas school systems. Talking about plants for the garden and flower beds was a favorite topic of conversation. Her biggest joy was being a MeMe to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty enjoyed traveling to new places while spending quality time with her extended family. She also enjoyed mystery books,crafting,sewing,crossword puzzles and waking up at 5:00 for coffee.
She is predeceased by her parents Don Anderson and Jewel Fisher Anderson, brother, Marvin Anderson, sister, Margie Collins and husband Fred,brother-in-law Fred Rau, and granddaughter, Emilie Anne McDaniel.
Ms. Brownell leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters, Natalie Voorhies and husband Michael of Ragley, LA and Monique Penny and husband Gerald of DeQuincy, LA, sisters, Brenda Rau of Lake Charles and Shirley Smith and husband Burel of Orangefield, TX, sister-in-law, Dot Anderson, three loving
grandchildren: Christopher Voorhies, Keely Guidry and husband Joey, and Dean Voorhies, three great grandchildren:
Caden Higginbotham, Trayce Johnson, and Jacob Guidry, nieces, Debbie Glynn, Kelly Lamke, Michele Roach, Tiffany Rau, Stephanie Rau, and Nikole Jenkins and her close friends Lyn Friedheim and Sylvia Cook.
In accordance with Ms. Brownell’s wishes she will be cremated and no services will be held
