Christopher George Whiting, 66, a native of Houston, TX and resident of Lake Charles, LA passed from this life onto the next on January 2, 2017 in anSulphur, LA care facility.

Christopher George Whiting was born to Shivers and Walterine S.Whiting in Houston, Texas on February 10, 1950 and raised in the Robinson Edition area of SunnySide.

Chris accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at a very early age and was baptized by Rev. Johnnie J. Roberson of Mt.Hebron Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Chris was a graduate of Evan E.Worthing Sr. High School Class of 1968. After high school, Chris married Brenda Jean Turner and a son was born Khristopher Jeorge Whiting and included a stepson Garland Andre Barnes. This union was dissolved and several years later Chris married Connie Fontenot and relocated to Lake Charles, LA. Although they were divorced they remained close friends and confidant's until his untimely demise. While a resident of the Lake Area, Chris worked as a Floor Technician for Saint Patrick's Hospital for a number of years. He will be remembered as a man that was full of life, courage,bravery, the love he had for his family. Chris was very comical, had a heart of gold and loved sports. Unbeknownst to some he was an avid reader and a fan of John Grisham. He enjoyed watching science fiction movies and sports.Chris never met a stranger and one always new exactly where they stood with him.

Chris is predeceased by his parents, Shivers Jr. and Walterine S. Whiting and two brothers, Shivers Whiting III and Myron Whiting.
He leaves to mourn his loss and cherish his memory his brother Michael G.Whiting of Houston,Texas, sons, Khristopher J.Whiting and Garland A. Barnes of Houston, TX, daughter, Christol Daniels(Troy), 2 Step-children Corey and Jessica Fontenot of Lake Charles, LA 3 grandsons, Derrius Washington of Houston, Texas, Xlyon, Jaiden, and K'yren Fontenot , of Lake Charles, LA, 3 granddaughters, Autum Jones, Kristen(KoKo) and Chelsea Daniels of Lake Charles, LA, and nephews Shivers Whiting IV and Shea Whiting of Houston, TX and A host of relatives and Friends.

At the time of his illness Christopher Whiting was in rehabilitation for drug and alcohol treatment and received his diploma from Cenikor Foundation.

A Celebration of Mr. Whiting's Life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Johnson Funeral Home 5730 Calhoun Road
