Shelia Marie Fontenot, 57, a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, passed from
this life on November 1, 2016 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Fontenot was a kind, loving, and outgoing person. Shelia never met a stranger and was the family's problem solver and peacemaker. Her friends best related to her as a mother and sister. She was a real-life Big Momma. In her spare time, she loved cooking, singing gospel and watching her SOAPS. She was also a member of The Moment of Truth Gospel Singers.

Shelia is predeceased by her father Clarence Fontenot. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Joseph Mourice Fontenot of Lake Charles, daughters, Christal Dawn Wofford and husband Michael of Beloit, WI,
and Heather Danyeal Fonenot of Lake Charles, her mother, Helen M. Rougeau Duplichain, four brothers; Gilliam Fontenot, Clarence Fontenot, Jr. and Wife Diana, Terry Fontenot and wife Tammy, and Mitchell Fontenot and wife Kim, two sisters. Connie Fontenot and Mary Bell Fontenot and five loving grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. The family will receive guest after the memorial service from 3 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home. Cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home.
