Obituary for Frank Guidry

Francis “Frank” Marion Guidry, 71, a native and resident of Lake Charles passed from this life on June 4, 2016 at his residence.

Frank was the owner of Gayle’s Hardware in Lake Charles. He will be best remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend. He served with honor and distinction in the United States Navy where he was an aircraft mechanic. Frank met and married the love of his life, Jean, in Santa Maria, California on October 18, 1969 and afterwards moved back to Lake Charles, LA, in 1970 where he fulfilled his dream of living on the water. He worked extremely hard, doing a lot of the work himself, to build his family’s home on the river. With the help of his friends, he built a wharf that would be the destination of many years of fun for family and friends. Known as the life of any party, he was a member of Krewe du Bon Couer, a member of the Parrot Heads, and Krewe of Pirates. He was a member of the Buccaneer's since 1988 and was Jean Lafitte in 1998. Frank graduated from McNeese State University with a B.S. in Accounting. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and could fix almost anything.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, wife Elizabeth Jean Farrel Guidry, and brother, Michael Guidry.

He is survived by his daughter, Nichole Guidry and grandson Nicholis Guidry, his loving companion, Sharon George, his extended family, Brianne Byrley and her son Payton, Desiree Jackson and her husband Chad and their children, Jane Claire, Nolan Bey, and Melia Rose and a host of friends he has made over his journey here with us.
