Obituary for Michael Dean Grimes

Michael D. Grimes, 61, a native of Platteville, Wisconsin and a resident of Sulphur, LA passed away on January 19, 2015 in a local care facility.
In his spare time Michael, enjoyed reading, spending time outdoors, fishing, star gazing, cooking and spending time with his family and friends. Michael was a very private man and greatly enjoyed solitude. Mike was a part of Bob Nelson's boys that discovered the Brogley Mine in SW Wisconsin.
Michael is predeceased by his parents Donald Grimes and Ruth Henry Grimes.
Mike leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters: Kathy Chase and husband Rick of Benton, WI and Susan Grimes and husband Ted Thornton of Middleton, WI; two nephews, Joshua Grimes and Sean Thornton; three nieces, Jessica O’Brien, Cortney Doescher-Hino, and Jael Doescher, and two very special friends, Dewey and Kelly of Fox’s Pizza in Sulphur.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Saturday January 31, 2015 from 11:00 am - 2:00 p.m at Fox’s Pizza Den 2590 Maplewood Drive in Sulphur, LA. All are invited to share food, laughter, tears and their remembrances. In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Grimes’ cremation has been entrusted to Lakeside Funeral Home of Lake Charles, LA.
Mike's family would like to express their profound appreciation to his friends and neighbors, the staff at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital in Sulphur, LA, and the caring and compassionate staff Harbor Hospice in Lake Charles, LA.
In lieu of customary remembrances the family request that donations be made to the Harbor Hospice Foundation in Mike’s honor at P.O. Box 21463, Beaumont, TX 7720-1463
