Obituary for Freddie "'Big Daddy"" Evans

Freddie Evans Sr., 62, affectionately known as “ Big Daddy” a resident of Lake Charles, died peacefully on August 30, 2014. Freddie was born in Pineville, LA on August 18, 1952 to John L. Evans and Bobbie Fisher Evans.

Freddie will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father and Big Daddy to his grandchildren. He was a gracious man of exceptionally strong character and was known for sending out his morning devotional text. His hard work and dedication to his family and friends will be sorely missed. He will also be missed by the children for the “Specials” of candy he kept in his desk drawer.

Freddie is preceded in death by his parents and brothers John and Steve Evans.

Freddie leaves to mourn his loss and cherish his memory , his wife of 18 years, Shelia Evans of Lake Charles, three sons; Freddie Guillory (Danyel) of Lake Charles, Freddie Evans (Krystal) of Houston, Bernard Murphy (Brittney) of Moss Bluff, three daughters; Ashlei Evans of Houston, Kisha Guillory (Allen) of Lake Charles, and Trisha Murphy of Lake Charles, three brothers; Shadrach, Meshach, and Shanakia Evans, two sisters; Kiashana Evans Howard and Kashanna Evans, eleven grandchildren with one on the way, his loving in-laws, and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Rev. Wilton Red is to officiate. Cremation will follow the service.
