David Roy Gilland, 52, of DeQuincy passed away on July 9, 2014 after a brief illness.

David was a resident of DeQuincy. He was a simple man and lived life on his own terms up until the very end. David was a man of faith and loved the Lord dearly and all of his daughters. He will be remembered for his good nature and honesty.

David is survived by his daughter Amanda Powers and her husband Eddie of DeQuincy; five step daughters, Kim Marcantel, Candice Lanthier, Heather Vincent, Crystal Koonce, and Veronica Miller. He is preceded in death by his parents Elroy and Georgia Gilland and his brother.
